Consuming Hand Sanitizer New Dangerous Teen Trend

Apparently, if you distill a small bottle of hand sanitizer, the 62% of it that is alcohol will separate out and you can drink it like a shot. Teens are increasingly becoming hospitalized for this. All I want to know is WHY someone would even think about that.
