Starting in March, taxis in Washington D.C. will start accepting credit cards. They will have a new "smart meter" in them for the ease of riders and for individual taxi owners to be able to accept whichever cards they want to. Overall, this advance could have many benefits, like if someone forgot their cash at home, or they haven't gone to ATM yet, they can swipe their card and get to where they need to go. Some cons in this is if someone uses their credit card all the time and they rack up an even bigger bill for their transportation, which is more to pay and it ends up making your interest rates higher if you don't pay more than you did before.
