TNT to Cut 4000 Jobs

"Our business faces difficult market conditions and strategic challenges but we have a unique competitive proposition," said Bernard Bot, TNT's interim chief executive. "The focus now is on our stand-alone strategy," Mr. Bot said.
Updating investors on that strategy Monday, TNT said it wanted to save €220 million ($286 million) through job cuts and reducing its international aircraft capacity in anticipation of difficult trading conditions for the rest of the year.
