Direct General is partnering with Innovative Auto insurance plan to provide direct serives via store fronts and the internet throughout twelve states. The companies feel this is an exciting move to better the services provided to their claim customers. This move will result in more repairs and faster services due to increased locations available to their clients. The Innovation Auto Group provides the software necessary for this outsourcing and will enable the insurance coverage to go global more readily.
I think this is a smart move for both of the companies, for they will be able to expand as they lean on eachothers resources as they grow. However, it is in limited areas and provide exceptional service to only a few making it seem to be the opposite of their goal: to expand this greater coverage to all. Eventually though, I am sure that they will make this a reality across all of the country as the outsourcing matures and the kinks and glitches are worked out. It is nice to see technology put to such good use as to protect insureance customers.
