Millionaire who lived 'poor' leaves windfall to Salvation Army

Millionaire, Elinor Sauerwein, died in 2010. In her last will and testiment, she left 1.7 million dollars to the Salvation Army. Elinor was a wealthy woman who was selfless, caring more for others than for herself. Of the money she left, half went to Modesto chapter's endowment which will pay everyday operations in Modesto and the other half went to brick-and-mortar projects, like building new shelters. Elinor is just one of the many generous donators to the Salvation Army.
