An author of a book on time management writes about how to make better spending decisions.  She says travel is "splurgworthy" because “you’ll anticipate the experience beforehand, live through the adventure, and then savor the memory afterwards.” This is what they call a triple happiness whammy for each dollar spent. To me this makes a lot of sense.
