Car insurance and guys

Men pay about $15,000 more for auto insurance over their lifetimes than women do.. Men tend to drive more aggressively and get into more accidents than young women. However, when the twins hit the "baby on board" years, guys mellow out -- at least until they hit their midlife crisis years.
Prove it: Show you are a good driver
You are what you drive: Cheaper car cheaper rates
Maintain good credit: insurance scores
Location: be lucky basically
Discounts: Get them man
Shop regularly: watch for new policies

Bill would tie welfare, drug tests
Ohio is going to do a drug test for people who apply for welfare, which I think is the way it should be anyways. The bill is on its way through senate but apparently there are people who say it would be unconstitutional to change the laws in the state. Which of course is ridiculous. Why should tax payers have to pay for druggies food.
Teens and Different Topics.

Many teens say that their schools don't know what to do about bullying, and that they aren't being pro-active about preventing or stopping it.
Regarding the Trayvon Martin case, many teens believe that it's ridiculous racism still exists in society.
Some teens love the boy band One Direction and others are freaked out. One teen is happy her younger sister gets to experience the boy band craze, like she did with the Backstreet boys.
Teens Discuss: Obama, Texting and Driving, and One Direction.

A group of four teens were given a number of topics and asked their opinions on them. One topic was about Obama, in which two out of the four students responded that they hope to see education become a more important issue for the presidential candidates. Texting and driving was also a big issue, with most of the teens saying that it's not safe but they do have the temptation to text and/or check their phones while they drive. The last topic the teens discussed was the new "boyband craze" and how One Direction has exploded onto the scene. For the most part, they were pretty happy that boybands are "in" again.

Privacy is lacking in this Tokyo glass home
Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood, this three-story, 914 square-foot home was created by an award winning Tokyo architect named Sou Fujimoto. His unusual design, with high glass walls and varying sized modular tables, contains 21 “floor plates” for residents and guests to sit, work, cook, eat, sleep, or play. Some of the floor plates are heated to provide comfort in the winter.Though the home is almost entirely transparent, there are curtains that provide some modicum of privacy for occupants. Still, living in a fishbowl might make residents think twice about climbing down to breakfast without first getting dressed.

Veterinary Financials
Often, life's choices come with a cost; however, life and death choices come with an even bigger price tag. Robin, my mare that just foaled, coliced Wedneday night (5/2) which essentially means her intestines got twisted and was rushed to CSU Vet hospital at 7am Thursday morning. My choices were $1500 and she has slim chances of living or upwards of $4500 and she will almost certainly survive. Needless to say, I picked life. Today, mare and foal are happily eating and playing together and that is priceless--our final bill was much cheaper than our original estimate and I am sure that CSU granted us a few pardons and favors because everyone at the hospital fell in love with my mare, foal, and family.
Transit of Venus

Living the Dream
Oftentimes there is a clear difference between what teenagers want to do and what they do. Why is that? Kids dream of doing amazing things when they are younger and as they grow up, "reality" sets in. We have to go to school and do things we don't care about and don't do what we really love to do, simply because it doesn't follow what society wants us to do. People want to be artists or musicians or pro ball players but instead they become accountants because their parents tell them to or because they're afraid they can't make it or that they'll be hungry. But should we trade our dreams for security?
Possibly the coolest thing ever. Of all time.
First, RANDOM FACT: I start my job at the Wapiti Colorado Pub today at 5. But more related to the subject, there is now a lightsaber on the market. Not exactly like in Star Wars, but it is a polycarbonate blade with a magnet based contraption inside the handle. When you attatch a Spyder 3 laster pointer, It all comes together to form a lighsaber-like effect. If it has any value, it says that it can still cause damage to people, property, and pets. In the future, perhaps we could have such a device exactly like those in the star wars saga, but alas, that will have to wait.

Citizens are voting on library budgets in Nassau county. Libraries have begun shifting money in their budgets. Instead of purchasing reference books, they are subscribing to online databases and purchasing more e-books and audio books. They are also spending more money on programming overall. More CD's and DVD's were bought according to demand. For the next year, they have decided to budget less for books and more for media.
Should Teens Have Credit Cards?
If parents can teach their kids the value of having good credit and help them have an understanding of how credit cards work then there is no issue with a teen having a credit card. However there are some teenagers who spend and spend a lot. If parents do not stress the importance of paying back the credit they used then teenagers will start accumulating debt at a very young age and potentially ruin their financial future.
Should Teens Have Credit Cards?
If the teen does not know anything about financial spending, then no. If the teen knows how to save and spend when needed, then yes. Those are the choices. Ways of helping them figure out financial spending, you could give them their own account, joint account with the parent, and a credit account tied in with their own account. Parents could also get a prepaid acount for them. The smart thing to do is pay it off when you get the bill.

Parents Can Provide Basic Finance Lessons for Their Children.
http://rochester.ynn.com/content/other_features/582832/money-matters--parents-can-provide-basic-finance-lessons-for-teens/
This article was basically talking about how parents should ask their children's school if a Finance course is offered. If not, they should lobby for it because it is an important course that all students should be taking.
Parents are also the biggest influence on children when it comes to finance. Talking to their children about finance and spending would be ideal.

Ex-Car Salesman Gets 7 Years for Scam of Credit Union
He gets 7 years for running a sophisticated scheme to defraud Navy Federal Credit Union out of $1.5 million. The 7 years is actually less than what the federally recommended guidelines are. They were 8-10 years. His attourney was asking for 3 while the other people were asking for 9. The money was neted through bogus car loans and he was forced to pay it off.
Cars that drive themselves
Using technology from Google, there has been a system designed in which a car can drive itself. In Nevada, Google is licensing 3 different test vehicles. They run a system which, if it glitches, can be overridden. There are many skeptics, but the idea is still in the test phase. Hopefully with this advancement we'll get to work on that machine that does your homework, like we have all been dreaming of since we were 5.

Four-day school week: Could it increase teen pregnancy?
A shorter school week could cut many costs in the school budget but is it a good idea?
The worry most people have is that students will take that extra day off of school do do things they shouldnt be doing. In my opinion if students are already having sex then what does it matter if they have one extra day off of school. instead of worring about what your students are doing you should teach them about safe sex, then there wouldnt necessarily be an increase in teen pregnancy.

He estimates that 1.2 million teens will get jobs this summer. But, he urges that you not wait, because most companies are looking to finish up their hiring by memorial day.

Why High School Doesn't Count: Getting Smart About College
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jayanti-tamm/community-college_b_1469427.html
Now days with lower addmission rates into top tier colleges than ever before, many kids go to plan B. Even after all the years of work to build a solid looking application, it doesn't count for anything now. It is even said that a kid that dropped out, or just played video games, or didn't have a single honors class have nothing to worry about. Transfering from a community colllege to a 4-year school could be your best friend.
