“Because of brain plasticity, the early teen years are a crucial time to learn financial lessons. The pathways in the frontal lobes are in the process of being rewired and parents can influence how new circuits form.”
When 14 year old Lukas wanted a $300 hockey stick and his dad had a $100 budget in mind, they had to work out a deal. His dad would pay the $100 and Lukas would work off the other $200.
This is the prime example of learning something early, they say that when you are set with an obstacle like this in your teen years you understand finance better in your adult years due to certain things in the brain.
I find it super interesting that I have been learning finance since I was 10 years old, having to do chores for the things I want and not the thing that I need.
