If You Love The Stock Market, You’ll Root For The Giants On Sunday.

Although there's no real reason behind it, in years when a team from the pre-expansion NFL (in this year's Superbowl, the New York Giants) wins, the stock market ends the year higher 80% of the time. Although this is no true economic indicator, it does have a small amount of intrigue associated with it just because people love weird stats. Another strange number is that when a team has won before (as both teams have), the stocks gain on average 13% by the end of the year, as opposed to only 5% after a non-returning champion wins.
