How the Hunger Games Explains This Year's Low College Acceptance Rates

The Hunger Games movie opened to over $152 million, the highest grossing movie opening of all time for a non-sequel but this is actually inaccurate. Factoring in inflation, Gone With the Wind still has the highest grossing box office numbers of all time, not the Hunger Games. This article is saying that the same principle applies to college acceptance rates. Colleges are receiving an all-time high number of applicants and their acceptance rates are technically still the same but because the number of applicants increased, it seems like the number of kids they are accepting is decreasing. The article says not to panic and apply to loads of schools because colleges look at how passionate you are about being at the school from your application and you'll get rejected more if you are only applying so you can be accepted somewhere.
